Fortress Caransebes
It is documentary attested in 1289, when King Ladislas IV century Cumana a visit. Situated in a place of strategic importance (it closes Timiş-Cerna corridor), the castle has undergone several stages of development. Original form was a castle dungeon type, around the houses being built which formed the city. For a good defense of the town and dungeon, they were enclosed by a wall.
