Vâlcea county, located in southern Romania and neighboring counties of Sibiu and Alba from the north, east Argeş County, Olt county in the south and southeast, Dolj southwest, west county Gorj Hunedoara and northwest .

By putting its geographical, Vâlcea county enjoys almost all major forms of relief: mountains, Sub-Carpathian hills, meadows and plateau-looking plain, arranged in steps from north to south, the entire defileele Olt and Lotrului, guarded by mountains Cozia , Capatanii, Fagaras, Parang and Lotru. Here the masses of the mountains is one of the great depressions of between the county, known as Country Loviştei.
